SHORT TENDER NOTICE

Sealed tenders are invited from the experienced Contractors who have carried out similar type of work and also having Provident Fund code number issued by P.F Authorities for the below mentioned work at Kudremukh, Chikmagalur District Karnataka 577 142.

Tenders will be received up to 3.00 PM on the date indicated below and opened in the presence of the tenderers who wish to be present on the same day in the office of the under signed.

The Contractors have to submit Technical Bid and price bid in separate sealed covers superscribing on the envelope "TECHNICAL BID/PRICE BID" as the case may be. The EMD is to be enclosed along with technical Bid.

Tender papers can be had from the office of the Sr.Manager(C)/ T&C, KIOCL, Kudremukh, Karnataka 577 142, on all working days during office hours on payment of Rs 50/- per set (inclusive of sales tax) in the form of DD drawn in favour of KIOCL, Kudremukh, payable at Kudremukh. The tender notification details can also be downloaded from the web site .

However, Bidders who downloaded the details from the Web site and submit the offer have to enclose a Demand Draft of Rs 50/- towards documents fee drawn in favour of KIOCL, Kudremukh, payable at Kudremukh.

 Tender for:Civil maintenance works for the year 2005-06.

A.INSTRUCTIONS TO TENDERERS:-

1. Tender should accompany EMD of Rs.3,500.00 in the form of Demand Draft Drawn in favour of KUDREMUKH IRON ORE COMPANY LIMITED,KUDREMUKH PAYABLE AT KUDREMUKH(MALLESWARA).The last date for receipt of tenders is up to 3.00 PM on 11-10-2005 .

2. The work shall generally be governed by KIOCL's General Conditions of contract, which is available for inspection by the tenderers in the Office of the Sr.Manager(C)/T&C, KIOCL,Kudremukh.577 142.

3. Tenderers shall furnish their quotations in the schedule enclosed. RATES SHOULD BE WRITTEN BOTH IN WORDS AND FIGURES.Tenderers shall submit the bids in sealed cover, addressed to Sr.Manager(C)/T&C,KIOCL,Kudremukh-577 142 clearly indicating tender reference etc on the envelope.

4. Employer reserves the right to reject any or all tenders with out assigning any reason.

5. Tender received late are liable for rejection.

6. Employer reserves the right to award part of the work or the whole, as may be considered necessary.

7. Tenders submitted without EMD will not be considered.

B. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Scope of work shall include all the schedule of items as described in the enclosed schedule covering all the items required for completing the work.

2. The work is complete labour and materials contract with all leads and lifts including machineries, transport etc., needed for execution of works. The quantities given in the schedule of items are approximate and may vary. Some of the items may not be executed. But no claim by the contractor on account of such omission or modifications shall be entertained. Payment for the work done shall be made at quoted rates for scheduled items only. Escalation in rates shall not be allowed on any account.

3. Power if required for construction work will be made available by the Department free of cost within a radius of 150-200 metres. Contractor has to make his own arrangements for the required cable. All other facilities required for the work shall have to be made by the contractor at his cost.

4. Land at the site of construction if available shall be allotted free of charge for construction of his Office/Stores if required.

5. All materials and workmanship shall confirm to CPWD specifications unless otherwise specified.

6. The contractor shall visit the work site and acquaint himself of the conditions prevailing before submission of tender.

7. Rejected materials shall be removed and the rejected works shall be dismantled and redone at Contractor's cost.

8. Measurement shall be taken as per IS 1200 latest editions, unless otherwise specified. For items not available in IS 1200,CPWD standard shall be adopted.

9. No extra items shall be executed by the contractor without prior consent of the Engineer-in charge of the work in writing. The rates for such items shall be agreed upon before commencement of such items of work. However, the rates shall be derived from the quoted rates, if this is not possible, then on the basis of market rates analysis, the rate shall be finalized.

10. Rates quoted against schedule items shall include all materials, labour, machinery expense and hire charges, all taxes, royalties, transport, maintenance, incidentals, enabling works etc., based on the conditions mentioned herein. Unless otherwise specified in the tender schedule the rates for all items will be deemed to include all leads, lifts and descents involved in the work.

11. The work executed shall be maintained in good conditions for a period of six months from the date of completion including repairs required, if any at contractor's cost and handed over to KIOCL in fair and acceptable condition. If he fails to maintain to the specification of the Engineer during the maintenance period, the same shall be got done by KIOCL at Contractor's risk and cost.

12. During the execution of the work, on account payment will normally be arranged once in a month, but no claim on this account will be entertained, if for any reason payments are not so made.

13. Initial security deposit of 3% of the tendered value shall be deposited immediately after placement of order. EMD shall be adjusted against the initial security deposit. The balance 7% shall be recovered from each running bill. The Security Deposit shall be refunded after successful completion of work, as well as expiry of maintenance period.

14. Any damage to the Company's property caused by the contractor during the execution/maintenance of work,shall be recovered from the contractor at the discretion of the Engineer-in charge.

15. Statutory deductions towards income tax will be made as per rules.

16. Royalties if any for materials as applicable shall have to be paid by the contractor. The contractor shall ensure and maintain documentary proof of payment of royalties as notified by the Government of Karnataka. The contractor will file monthly returns and maintain such records as required by the State Geology Department.

17. Works contract tax:-

As per Section 19A of the Karnataka Sales Tax Act.1957 Works

Contract Tax shall be recovered as follows:-

i) At the rate of % as applicable in case the dealer/contractor has opted for Composition of Tax.In such cases the contractor is required to produce a Certificate from the Assessing Authority permitting him for Composition of tax. Or else:

ii) Tax shall be recovered at the rate specified in the Sixth Schedule of the Karnataka Sales Tax Act, 1957. The tax shall be deducted as applicable as per the Karnataka Sales Tax Act.

18. The contractor shall abide by all contract Labour Regulation Abolition Act, Minimum Wages Act, Workmen's Compensation Act, Provident Fund Act and Security Regulation Promulgated from time to time by the employer. The contractor should obtain Insurance Policy to cover the risk of all the labourers under Workmen's Compensation Act for the full period. Work order will not be issued without valid insurance.

19. Contractor shall comply with the provisions of the payment of wages Act, 1936 and Rules made thereunder in respect of all labourers employed by him in carrying out this Contract.

20. Contractor shall comply with the provisions of the Equal Remuneration Act 1976 and central Rules.

21.Contractor shall not employ children below the age stipulated under Law.

Contractor shall comply the Child labour (P&R) Act 1988 and Central Rules.

22. The contractor has to ensure payment of minimum wages not only as existing at the time of award of contract but also should ensure payment of minimum wages as notified by the Government of India from time to time during the period of contract. While indicating their bids the contractor should keep this in mind and accordingly submit the same.

23. Our Mines/Company come under the statue of Mines Act, Rules, Metalliferous Mines Regulations,byelaws and orders made there under.Hence the Contractors must abide by the same.

i) No persons shall be employed without Initial Training on Safety as per Vocational Training Rules.

The new workmen of the agency (if being inducted for the first time) are to undergo an Orientation Training Programme in our Training and Safety Department for a minimum period of three days,in general shift before they are deployed for performing actual work by the agency.

ii) Contractor must immediately after deploying the Contract Workers, get their Initial Medical Examination done at Company Hospital . The initial/periodical Medical Examination of Contract Workers at our project will be carried out on free of cost at Kudremukh Hospital .

iii) A supervisor with experience should be deployed to ensure that the contract workers work safely and in accordance with all the provisions of Mines Act, Rules, Regulations, Byelaws and orders made there under.

24. The Contractor shall be responsible for all the safety measures as per the rules in the interest of Safety of all the labourers working under him. Necessary safety appliances shall be provided to all the labourers at your cost.

Wherever it is observed that the contractor has not provided safety appliances to any of the workers engaged by him, the management reserves the right to issue the necessary safety appliances to his workers on cost recovery basis.

25. The workmen of contractors at Kudremukh would be offered free medical treatment at Kudremukh Hospital in all cases of injuries arising out of and in the course of their employment relating to works awarded by KIOCL.

26. The contractor shall make his own arrangements for transportation of OWNER SUPPLIED materials to the work spot.

27. Cement required for the work shall be issued, limiting to the theoretical consumption of 105% at the rate of Rs.4,032/- per MT at KIOCL Stores.

28. If the agency fails to complete the job with in the stipulated period, the work may be awarded to some other agency at his risk and cost. The extra expenditure, if any shall be recovered from the agency.

29. Time allotted for the job is six months from the date specified in the work order.

30. The contract will be operated by Sr.Manager(TA) or his Authorized Representative.

31. The Contractors have to submit Technical Bid and price bid in separate sealed covers superscribing on the envelope "TECHNICAL BID/ PRICE BID" as the case may be. The EMD is to be enclosed along with technical Bid. The agency should not write any conditions in the price bid.

C- TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION AND APPLICATION OF SCHEDULE

1 Item No. 1 : EARTH WORK EXCAVATION

i. Schedule pertains to excavation of trenches, foundation, column footings for pipe laying, cable laying. The width of trench should not exceed 1.5m. The excavated earth should be disposed and levelled or sloped as per the direction of site-in charge.

ii. Before commencement of excavation in trenches or over areas the site will be cleared of shrubs, bushes, weed and small trees not exceeding 30cm in girth measured at 1m. above ground level.

iii. The contractor shall provide adequate timbering/ shoring if so indicated by the Engineer-in-charge. The timbering should have sufficient strength to resist earth pressure and ensure safety from slips, damaged to the property or injury to person.

iv. Tell - Tales : Tell - tales or dead men shall be left in position as indicated by Engineer-in charge at sufficient intervals to enable measurements to be taken of the excavation performed. Such tell-tales shall not be tampered with or removed without prior permission of the Officer-in-Charge.In return filling in and ramming excavated soil into trench, the finest soil shall be selected and carefully filled in.

v. Item No. 1(b): GROUND PREPARATION: Up rooting of big plants, scraping of the grasses, picking out the big stones from the ground, removing the loose stones and lumps of the earth and including sectioning and levelling of the areas wherever shown by the Engineer-in-charge.

vi. Item No. 1(c):-The item includes filling the available earth within a lead of 50m and in layers for consolidation with ramming, watering, etc.

2 Item No. 2: Stone Masonry :

i. Size stone masonry is to be built for foundation, plinth, superstructure and column etc., including scaffolding, staging in all heights including watering and curing. All stones shall be sound,durable, free from defects like cavities grass flaws, sand holes, injurious vains, patches of loose materials etc. as far as possible. Staging shall be provided to allow easy approach to every part of the work and scaffolding shall be strong enough to withstand all loads. Scaffolding holes shall be made good as soon as the scaffolding is removed.

ii. Only size stones will be supplied by Dept. on free of cost basis. All other items such as scaffolding, cement mortar for construction of masonry, curing, etc. is included in the rate.

3 Item No. 3: BRICK MASONRY :

i. Brick masonry in cement mortar includes work in foundation, plinth and super structure and also including scaffolding and staging at all heights. Bricks should be soaked in water for a period of 24 hours before use. Under-burnt rain spotted and damaged bricks should be removed from site and should not be used. Brick bats or 1/2 bricks should be used only in closures, quoins to the While laying the masonry, bricks should be placed with the frogs up. Scaffolding holes should be properly plugged with bricks and cement mortar. For scooter ramp minimum depth of the brick below the ground level should be one brick. The ground should be levelled before starting the work.

4 Item No.4: CONCRETE WORK:

i. All concreting work should be done using standard materials like clean hard aggregate, clean river sand, port land cement in bags and clean water. All concreting shall be hand mixed and compacted unless otherwise stated for load bearing structures like columns, beams, etc., where concrete needs to be mixed in a mixture and compaction has to be done by means of mechanical vibrators.

ii. All concrete should be mixed on hard water proof platform. The volume of concrete mixed should be placed in position within 30 minutes of water mixing. No set concrete shall be mixed with fresh concrete or laid.

iii. The rates quoted for concrete under items 4(a) to 4(h) shall include the work for bedding concrete, foundations, plinth beams, steps, columns, lintels or beams, chajjas, precast slabs of any thickness, size and roof slabs.

Item No. 4(h) is for providing and laying P.C.C. 1:3:6 using river shingle provided by the department at CMT Stores. The work involves laying of river shingle concrete for scooter approaches, platforms, etc., as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.

iv. All concrete works shall be kept moist, wet with gunny/bags or by continuous sprinkling of water or covering with hay to cure the concrete minimum period of 7 days.

v. Item No.4 (e): Precast items: Pre-cast or cast in-situ R.C.C. slabs for man hole, gully chamber and inspection chamber covers.

Steel will be supplied departmentally free of cost and cement on recovery basis.

Slab size will vary according to the individual cover size (ie., 35 x 35 cm, 50 x 50 cm, x 65 cm appr.)

Centring and shuttering materials are to be arranged by the agency. Slab should have 2 Nos. handles for lifting purpose and top side finished smoothly in CM 1:4.Cost of bar bending not included in the item and centring shuttering cost included in the items.

vi. Item No.4 (g): In IPS concreting for floors it should be laid in panels in alternate bays not exceeding 2.50 metres square or as directed to proper level or required slopes including providing glass, strips in the shrinkage joints.

5 Item No. 5: FABRICATION OF REINFORCEMENT STEEL:

The reinforcement required has to be placed fully as per design or direction fabricated as per drawing or direction fixed with binding wires and suitably separated with cover blocks and chairs and spacers.

6 ITEM NO. 6; CEMENT PLASTER :

Before plastering, for brick/ masonry wall all the joints should be raked to a minimum depth of 6 mm. The surface should be wire brushed to clean all mortar splashes and wetted with water. Plastering or pointing shall be done for all heights and levels. Schedule of item includes scaffolding, staging, curing for a period of 7 days etc., complete.

The above workmanship specification is applicable to the pointing also. Mortar for plastering or pointing should be prepared on a water tight clean platform and should be used within 30 Minutes after the mix is prepared with water.

All concrete works shall be kept moist, wet with gunny/bags or by continuous sprinkling of water or covering with hay to cure the concrete minimum period of 7 days.

7 ITEM NO.7: WHITE WASHING, COLOUR WASHING AND PAINTING WORK :

i. Shell lime shall be of best quality mixed in hot water to form a fine paste, sieve-off the binder and under burnt materials, mix robin blue or blue stainer to the required shade.

ii. Preparation of Surface:

GENERAL: The surface to be white washed should be thoroughly cleaned, brushed for removing the dirt, cobwebs, smoke, slot and other deleterious materials. The white wash should be applied with brushes with vertical and horizontal strokes to give an even shade. Second coat of white wash wherever specified shall be applied only after getting permission by the Officer-in-charge.

The rate quoted for white wash includes cost of scaffolding, staging, etc., for all heights complete.

iii. ITEM NO. 7(a) : While applying white wash care should be taken to cover the painted and polished areas, wood work, electrical fittings, meter boards etc., and exposed cement works. The lime water dripping/dropping should be thoroughly cleaned at all places. Any earlier stains of lime wash should be cleaned by the agency.

iv. ITEM NO. 7(b) : For preparing colour wash the solution paste is similar to white wash (except admixture of robin blue colour as specified above) using lime fast pigments.

In particular shade the total volume of solution required should be prepared at one stage to avoid variance in the shade when applied on the walls.

v. ITEM NO. 7(c): Cement paint should be of brand snowcem, durocem or supercem or equivalent of standard approved make. Cement paint should be prepared to the proportion and consistency as specified by the manufacturer. The surface on which cement paint is to be applied should be cleaned thoroughly, wetted with water and cement paint shall be applied in vertical and horizontal with good quality brushes. The work should be undertaken on the shady side of the building. Cement applied surface shall be cured with water spray for minimum period of 3 days.

Wherever second coat is applied, the first coat shall be allowed to dry thoroughly.

•  ITEM NO.7(d): The contractor shall bring the Distemper of approved manufacturer and standard make. The preparation of surface before applying the Distemper shall be as detailed in the para above.

8 ITEM NO. 7(e) : ENAMEL PAINTING:

The materials required for the painting work shall be obtained from approved manufacturers and brought to the site in standard containers of manufacturer with seals intact. All materials not in use shall be kept properly protected. Materials which have become stale or fat due to improper and long storage shall not be used. The paint shall be stirred thoroughly in containers before pouring into smaller containers. While applying also the paint shall continuously be stirred.

The surface to be painted shall be thoroughly cleaned of all dust, dirt, scales, smoke and grease before painting is started. No painting on exterior or other exposed parts of the work shall be carried out in wet, humid or otherwise unfavorable weather condition and all the surface must be thoroughly dried before painting work is started. No brush marks shall be left after completion of painting. Each coat of painting shall be allowed to dry completely and lightly rubbed with very fine sand paper and to remove loose particles before next coat is started. The putty around the glass pane shall also be painted. But care shall be taken to see that no paint stains are left on glass. Top of the shutter shall not be left out in painting.

9 ITEM NOS. 8 TO 13:

REPAIRS/MODIFICATIONS/MAINTENANCE/DISMANTLING/DEMOLISHING WORKS:

Dismantled/serviceable materials should be stacked properly and unserviceable materials should be disposed off away from the work spot. Serviceable materials should be handed over to the maintenance stores.

10 ITEM NOS. 14 & 15: REPAIR WORKS:

For cement patch work, the old surface of the cemented area is to be removed and replastered in CM 1:6 by applying cement slurry for bondage. The repair of plaster cracks, the existing crack is to be cut to a wedge shape full depth and replastered in CM 1:6. Cement slurry should be applied for proper bondage. The dismantled debris is to be disposed away from the work spot.

11 ITEM NOS.17:RECTIFICATION IN TOILET/BATH ROOM FLOOR LEAKAGE:

i. ITEM NO. 17(i): Breaking outside walls to a size of 30 to 60 Cm dia or square in the brick or stone or concrete walls/surface and raking out the side pipe joints ie., IWC to 'P' trap, P trap to CI pipe and telescope joints to I.W.C. etc and filling the joint in CM 1:3 with hemp dipped in the cement slurry or bitumen and make the joint water tight and fill up the gap with necessary materials like cement concrete, brick or stone masonry including plastering and pointing to restore the wall structure to the original conditions.

ii. ITEM NO. 17(ii): Kitchen / Bath room leakage rectification:

Dismantling of floor concrete by chiseling and rectification of the joints of floor traps and soil pipes or replacement with new floor traps including fixing with waste water line, back filling with concrete, finishing the floor to the original condition and rectifying the floor correctly to render leak proof.

12 ITEM NO.18: RECTIFICATION OF TOILETS IN PUBLIC BUILDINGS :

i. Removal of existing bath tub, wash hand basin, low level flushing cistern and E.W.C. commode.

ii. Dismantling of side brick wall of bath side, mosaic floor tiles/glazed tiles 6" to 1'0" height from the finished mosaic floor level.

iii. Dismantling of plain concrete below mosaic tiles.

iv. Removing of cinders and filled materials.

v. Chipping of plaster of sunken floor and wall sides.

vi. Removal of loose bricks from the wall of the bath-cum-toilet.

vii. Removal of Nahni trap waste water line, etc., complete.

viii. Checking the joints of waste and sewer line and sunken floor.

ix. Packing the gap between wall and floor of waste/sewer line with brick in CM 1:4.

x. Replastering the sunken floor, side walls in CM 1:2 with water proofing compound 20 mm thick.

xi. Curing for 4-7 days and check for leakage through ides, floor joints, etc.

xii. Application of hot bitumen coat to sunken floor and wall sides.

xiii Fixing of waste water line from W.H.B. and bath tub with correct gradient/slope and refilling the cinders.

xiv. Fixing of floor/Nahani traps.

xv. Providing and laying PCC 1:2:4 to required thickness (ie., 80 mm to 150 mm) and rough plaster on the concrete surface 12 mm thick CM 1:4 above the cinder filling.

xvi. Curing for 7 days and filling the water up to 4" to 8" to check for leakage in the floor slab.

xvii. Refixing the bath tub and constructing the half brick work in CM 1:4 for bath tub side wall.

xiii. Providing and laying ceramic floor tiles for floors and white glazed tiles for side walls in CM with matching cement and pigment.

xix. Once again water to be retained above the finished floor for curing and testing for leakage for a period of 3-4 days.

xx. Refixing the wash hand basin and low level cistern, etc. With all operation, in case any failure/leakage observed in the toilet/ bath, contractor will be held responsible for redoing the whole or part of work at his risk and cost. The cost of the ceramic tiles, glazed tiles included in the item. Cement will be issued on recovery basis. Any damage done to the existing fittings, agency should replace at his own cost.

13 ITEM NO.19

While fixing the GI/PVC drain pipe, care should be taken to avoid any damage to the balcony structure or floor. All the dismantled area should be brought to the original condition.

14 ITEM NO. 20

i. For pot hole repair, the existing pot holes shall be cut to a proper shape either square, rectangle or round and all the loose materials are to be removed and tack coat to be applied before laying the premixed metal. The granite stone aggregate to be used shall be 20 mm and down graded. Quarry dust to be spread on top of the surface after compaction of premix carpet.

PREMIXES :

i) For an economical mix, exact percentage of emulsion by weight of aggregate should be added. It varies from 5 to 8% by weight of aggregates. Finer the material, higher should be the percentage of emulsion. The finer material (less than 2 mm in size) should not be more than 2% in the total mix.

ii). The mix should be homogeneous and excessive mixing is not advised.

iii). The mix should be laid immediately after mixing.

PROCEDURE:

a) Brush away loose particles, dust, etc., from the pot hole depression. If necessary, the area should be dug up to square or rectangular shape till it meets the sub-grade level.

b) Spread premix in layers of 5 cm maximum thickness and compact it with hand rammer or roller.

c) Spread premixed aggregates to the required thickness with necessary allowance for compaction.

d) Spread crusher dust after compaction at the rate of 2 KG/SQM avoid compaction after spreading of crusher dust.

e) Traffic impact gives good and quick curing/hardening of the surface. Hence allow traffic immediately but of limited speed.

15 ITEM NO. 21: REPAIR TO ROLLING SHUTTERS :

The top cover shall remove carefully and cleaned with kerosene oil by removing old grease, dust, dirt, etc. Fresh grease should be applied inside the side channels, bearings, spring side, etc. to make shutter easy to operate. In case tightening of spring, replacing of any broken/damaged parts with new one of the rolling shutter same to be carried out by the agency. Finally the top cover to be replaced and brought to the original condition/position.

16 ITEM NO. 22: FIXING GLAZED TILES :

White/colour glazed tiles will be supplied departmentally free of cost, remaining work will be carried out by the agency at his cost.

17 Item No. 23

The item includes repair of gully trap/inspection chamber/manhole with all necessary repair to the damaged portion including brick work and cement plastering and bringing back to the original shape.

18 ITEM NOS. 24 & 25 :

Only IWC and footrest will be issued departmentally free of cost, cement will be issued on recovery basis, labours, tools and tackles are to be arranged by the agency.

19 Item No. 26

Required J/L bolts with washers will be issued by Dept. on free of cost basis. Scaffolding, ladder, necessary tools are to be arranged by the agency.

20 ITEM NO. 27

A.C. Sheets will be issued departmentally free of cost for the work, remaining materials like, 'J' or 'L' Bolts with GI and limpet and bituminous washers should be procured by the agency.

21 ITEM Nos. 28 TO 33 :

All the items involve only labour charges whatever materials are required for the work will be issued departmentally free of cost. Required labour, tools and tackles are to be arranged by the agency.

22 ITEM NO. 34: FABRICATION OF STEEL OR LIGHT STRUCTURE:

This item covers fabrication of light structure like trusses, column, purlins bracing, brackets, etc. with necessary welding of base plates, gussets and pipes, etc. Angles, channels, pipes and also fabrication of M.S. rounds as per design assembly and erection in position as per design and instructions including one coat of metal primer/red oxide. Contractor should quote only labour charges for the above work (all materials including welding machine gas cutting set, welding rod, electrical power and gas etc., will be supplied departmentally free of cost).

23 ITEM NO. 35: TARPAULIN REMOVING FROM THE TOP OF ROOFS :

The agency/contractor should arrange labourers to lift, stretch/fold and place/remove the tarpaulin on the roof of residential/non-residential residential units. The empty Cement/Gunny Bags filled with sand/earth to be placed on the top of stretched tarpaulin as the counter weight. Tarpaulin, empty gunny bags, truck and ladder will be provided/supplied by the department free of cost. Care should be taken by the agency / contractor for safety of his labour. After removing the tarpaulin this is to be returned to CMT stores.

Agency to arrange the oxalic acids, wax polishing machine, etc. Required power supply will be made available free of cost at working spot. For skirting and dado hand cutting/polishing to be done with fine graded Carborundum stone.

D- SPECIAL CONDITIONS

1 The Contractor has to give his quotation in percentage rate(i.e + or - or at par ) above the enclosed schedule of rates in ANNEXURE - I

2 To clear the day to day complaints required numbers of Masons, Helpers, Sewer man, etc. should be deployed. The contractor's authorized supervisor should visit Maintenance Office daily morning, afternoon and evening to get the instructions from the Engineer-in-charge/ Supervisor, to collect the complaint slips, consult the Engineer-in-charge for next day complaints and planning for materials and labour for smooth working. If any problem arises at the working spot, same should be brought to the notice of Engineer-in-charge for further guidance. Any owner-supplied materials required for the work should be brought to the notice of Officer-in-charge for immediate arrangement.

3 Bitumen shall be issued on chargeable basis at the rate of Rs.6200/- per MT (Empty Bitumen drums should be returned to Stores).

4 Cement required for the work shall be issued at CMT stores at the rate of Rs. 4032/MT on cost recovery basis.

5 The period of contract shall be SIX MONTHS from the date of issue work order.

6 Empty Paint Drums should be returned to CMT Stores.

7 River shingle required for the work shall be issued at CMT stores.

8 All old/ serviceable /unserviceable/ fixtures/ fittings removed during maintenance work shall be returned to CMT Stores and properly accounted for.

9 Transport, if available, will be provided on hire basis.

10 Contractor should produce the Insurance Certificate for the duration of contract before commencing the work.

11 All relevant requirements/records as per the Personnel Department Letter No: PERS/KM/010/998 Dtd. 23-06-2001 has to be maintained.
