Short Term Plans

  • Blending of the Kudremukh Magnetite Concentrate with Haemetite Iron Ore upto 10% sourced from outside for use in the Pellet Plant.
  • Sourcing of Iron Ore Fines for Export.
  • Development of infrastructure at Mangalore facilities for receipt, unloading, handling, blending, storage and grinding of Haemetite Ore sourced from different agencies.

Long Term Plans

  • Process and Technological Modifications to the existing Pellet Plant to cater to the use of Haemetite Iron Ore Fines for Pellet making.
  • Getting the leasehold area to mine the Haemetite reserves of Ramanadurg deposits in Bellary-Hospet region.
  • Investment on the development of the required infrastructure at the minehead at Ramanadurg once KIOCL gets the mining lease.

Expansion and Diversification Measures
  • Development of Barsua Iron Ore Deposits in Orissa
  • Mining operations at Chiria/Jharkhand/Taldi areas
  • Taking over of Kalinga Iron Works, Orissa
